Why wrong saving can be life-threatening
In an emergency, every second counts—and even more so, every detail. Especially in life-threatening bleeding, the quality of the equipment determines success or failure.
Cheap tourniquets that look similar to the originals are increasingly appearing on platforms and online marketplaces – but often don't meet the same tested quality standards. These replicas pose significant risks.
Differences between high-quality and cheap tourniquets
-
Material quality:
Originals like C•A•T, SAM XT, or SOF-T are made of tear-resistant, UV- and weather-resistant material. Cheap copies often break or tear the first time they're applied. -
Winch system (toggle):
In tested models made of aluminum or special plastic, the toggle holds even under maximum pressure. In cheap models, the toggle loosens or breaks—which can be fatal. -
Fixation mechanism:
High-quality TQs have a secure locking system. Counterfeit versions use cheap Velcro fasteners that can come undone with movement or blood contact. -
CE certification & testing:
Quality products are CE-certified and often even tested according to TCCC standards. Cheap copies often carry counterfeit CE marks without any testing. -
Function under stress:
In use, a tourniquet must also work in the presence of blood, dirt, or moisture – cheap models regularly fail in this regard.
Conclusion:
A substandard tourniquet can mean the difference between life and death in cases of heavy bleeding. Saving €15 risks the material failing when it matters most.
Difference: Standard Compressed Gauze vs. Hemostatic Gauze
In tactical casualty care, proper wound care plays a key role. Especially in cases of severe bleeding, every second counts – and the right material can mean the difference between life and death. Two key products in this regard are Compressed Gauze and Hemostatic Gauze. Although they look similar, they differ significantly in their structure and effectiveness.
Compressed Gauze
(e.g. nextRESCUE Red Point, NAR Compressed Gauze)
Sterile gauze bandage, extremely space-saving and highly compressed.
Is inserted directly into the wound (“wound packing”) to apply pressure to the source of bleeding.
Stops bleeding mechanically – through pressure and compression alone, without chemical additives.
Ideal as a component of any IFAK, especially in cases of moderate bleeding or when no hemostatic agent is available.
Available in two main forms:
Rolled Gauze: classic rolled up, compact, but harder to control during use.
Z-Folded Gauze: pre-folded like an accordion, it can be removed much faster and more precisely without tangling – ideal under stress.
💡 Z-Folded Gauze makes wound packing much easier – no unrolling, no mess, just clean and fast work.
Hemostatic gauze
(e.g. QuikClot Combat Gauze, Celox Rapid, ChitoGauze)
Contains a hemostatic agent such as kaolin or chitosan, which greatly accelerates natural clotting.
Combines mechanical compression with chemical hemostasis – particularly effective in cases of severe arterial or venous bleeding.
Developed for military, police and rescue operations where seconds mean the difference between life and death.
Recommended by leading organizations such as TCCC, the US military and numerous European authorities.

Current status
Medical device trade in preparation
We are currently in the process of expanding our business license to trade in medical devices. Until this process is complete, we are only permitted to offer a few products directly. Our focus during this time is on education, advice, and product recommendations.
Quality standards
No compromises on quality
Our mission remains unchanged: only tested original products, no cheap imports or uncertified replicas. Especially with safety-relevant products, quality can save lives.
Why this regulation
is important
Safety & Responsibility
Medical devices are subject to strict legal requirements – and rightly so. This is the only way to ensure that all products offered are tested, CE-certified, and approved for professional use. We adhere to these standards, of course.
Collaboration with partners
Strong partners, clear values
We work closely with established manufacturers and specialist retailers – including those in the areas of TCCC, tactical medicine, and operational support. Our goal is to be a central Austrian point of contact for quality and expertise.
Our role currently
Recommendation instead of sales
We currently recommend high-quality products and sources from our partner companies. Upon request, we can put you in touch with certified retailers until we ourselves are authorized to sell directly.
Class 1 products are now available from us!
Looking to the future
Soon also available directly
Once we receive commercial approval, we'll be offering a full range of medical-tactical products—from tourniquets to complete IFAKs. Until then, we'll keep you updated here.
